After clearing all cookies and cache on my Google Chrome, Google Chrome's auto-completion in the omnibox is no longer working 100% fine. It gives recent related searches and related history items in the auto-completion bar, but that's it. In Google's Help Center, it says that Search Predictions come from: The terms you’re typing. How to Use Google Chrome Address Bar for Search? Updated on Oct 7, 2018 Posted by Editorial Staff Browsers, Tech Tips 1 Comment Most of us use Google Chrome browser’s address bar to open an URL of a site but the fact is that Google Chrome supports the search function directly from the address bar. My search bar doesn't show predictive search. I am using Google Chrome. Is there a way to fix it? If you’ve not enabled it in the settings, then do it now. Scroll down and click on ‘Show advanced settings’ Then you’ve nothing left to do.

Old Title: Shortcut will not open from desktopFor about a month now, I have not been able to open up Google Chrome straight from either the desktop shortcut or from the pin bar. The shortcut looks like it is going in the right file path but or some reason it does not open. If Iclick on the shortcuts they'll act as if they are about to open but then they stop the process by themselves.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program several times over the past few weeks but that hasn't helped. I tried making shortcuts directlyfrom the file path but they only work a few times (if I'm lucky) before I begin to have the same problem. I have also ran antivirus and anti malware software twice since the problem started and I haven't found anything.

Nothing seems to be wrong with the browseritself so I have to assume that it is a problem with windows 8. I upgraded to 8.1 when the update came out and Chrome worked perfectly fine on it before this started happening. Is there any way to fix this issue? I was having the same problem and I think its because I have chrome installed on a harddrive that is not my primary, but then every time it saves something (i.e. Updates) it does it to my primary hard drive and causes issues. Not sure, but I am havingTHE SAME EXACT ISSUE where I can make a shortcut to chrome on my desktop and for a couple of hours, it will work and then it stops. I've gone to the extent to just copying a shortcut to the application folder on my desktop.

Google Chrome Search Bar Not Working Back

After upgrading to Windows 10 my Chrome stopped working. I am able to click on Chrome and it does come up, but no pages load, and the screen just remains white under any tabs. The default screen does not load (the screen with most used links). The settingstab does not load, just remains white. So yeah that's the problem. I have done searches but have not noticed anyone complain about this specific issue.

Just to reiterate, new tabs do pop up but every tab, regardless of what it is for, just remains white and nothing happens. I cannot tell whichversion of Chrome I am on because the 'About Chrome' tab does not load either, but I think it is up to date because I did an upgrade a few days ago.Any ideas what the problem could be?
