Same issues here.I called Spectrasonics to check on compatibility of current version of Omnisphere with Logic Pro X and they said there should be no problem, as it is audio units based. Omnisphere shows up in the list of audio units when I scan for it, but nowhere can I access it in Logic Pro X. I also kept Logic Pro 9 on my Mac Pro, and it loads Omnisphere just fine. Guess I will call Spectrasonics back again on Monday, and Apple as well.

You have to wonder how much testing Apple does for third party products before releasing a new version. Being that I paid two and a half times more money for Omnisphere than Logic Pro X costs, I'm not a happy camper. Wish I could be optimistic for a quick fix of this, but considering there are still major unresolved issues in Mountain Lion and Photoshop CS6 after a whole year, it doesn't bode well.

I thought it was amazing when I first bought it, but then realized quickly that most of the samples are pretty much unusable unless you want to stick out like a sore thumb.Audio import is nice but it is somewhat limited after you really figure it out. The DSP portion is nice too, but nothing you can't find anywhere else. Plus, you better have patience if you like sifting through presets, because some of them take forever to load.I ended up selling Omnisphere and buying Diva & Absynth 5, and am very happy about it. If I had a Macbook there's no doubt I'd be using Alchemy too.tl:dr don't waste your money. IMO, solo, it's a $200 synth that costs $500.
It has a bunch of samples + presets you'll probably never use and is part of an outdated 'one size fits all' mentality. It's not to say it's at all inferior quality, and I'm not knocking it, just that it's not priced competitively and has a dated design paradigm that I'd never use. If you use Keyscape (which is insanely good if you're into vintage keyboards) and Trilian etc already, it may be worth it if you plan on modifying those sounds, so for a lot of people buying it who use those, the price tag borders on irrelevant.If finances are a consideration, you know Logic (and even Mainstage) comes with Alchemy for free now right (FREE as in beer, just update it)? That's a $200 quality level softsynth you already own. So if you own Logic already, you owe me a coffee for saving you $500.

While for some reason Spectrasonics does charge $499 on their web store, if you buy the physical product from a retailer it's actually quite a lot cheaper, at least here in Europe.As for what it offers, in my opinion, is a very capable VA synth/rompler/'lite-sampler' with sooo many ways of mangling sound, both the sample- based and synth ones. Admittedly the single-sample importing is limited and yes, you might not find use for all of the samples, but when they have something like maybe 6000-8000 soundsources (I'm estimating since they say around 12000 patches and soundsources total). Even at €399 or lower, I still maintain what I said and think OP should probably opt to use Alchemy which is included in Logic and Mainstage if budget is a factor. For making music and having fun and really nice fat warm sounds I would spend the money on this instead:I got this ages ago for $199 when it was an earlier version and it was on sale because it had just gone NKS. I think it was half price or something and really I didn't mess about with the synths on it at all for a good six months but I've just started to give it lots of love and really really surprised and happy with the results of the niceness you can get out of the synths. Particularly loving the CS-80 and the Mini V for nice warm analogue sounds.

And you get a stack of organs in there that all sound pretty nice.I've never considered Omnisphere at all (or Falcon for that matter) I think it's a bit overwhelming for me and then you get sucked down into the rabbit hole that is sound design rather than making nice tracks. And I get the feeling with a lot of sound design everyone goes: My Synth has all these things, lots of effects engines, all these bells and whilstles but to be honest I prefer getting a song down and doing all the editing of the effects on that sound afterwards, after I've made the song rather than before by adding my reverb, distortion, saturation or whatever with a seperate send track. I like my synths 'dry'. Okay so i didn't pay for it, barely used it because i just didn't like it at all from the get go, there's ton of features i probably didn't even touch.Basically it has everything and nothing at the same time, there's tons of weird sound in there, you'll probably never use them, you can mix anything with anything, and to be honest that's too much choices, the presets are way too finicky and odd sounding. This is a synth where you'll lose yourself for hours trying to find a sound, only to load up massive or w/e other synth and get an alright sounding preset in 5 min, at least that's my experienceSometimes i just want a good rhodes sound not a rhodes from space with the attack of a banjo on top.It's great if you're searching for a 'never heard before' kind of sound. You can make a very weird sounding piano or brass section or whatever, but that's all it is, if that's what you're after why not go sample fishing?Basically there's only weird sounding 'normal' instruments in there, and some even weirder stuff.
