Hello,I recently reinstalled the OS on a Dell Optiplex 755 and unfortunately, I don't have the drivers disc for this computer. I was able to install drivers for all of the hardware components except I could not find the drivers for the 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' Could someone help me locate this driver?I think this missing driver may be contributing to an issue with the PC's ability to connect to the internet at full strength. I am using an Encore Wireless Router in the upstairs portion of a home and the wireless signal reaches as far as the office downstairs but the the connection is very slow. Just says the signal strength is low.Is there a way strengthen the signal from the router or from the Linksys Wireless adapter on the computer its brand new.Sorry this is a question 1a and 1b scenario. Thank you in advance! Yes there is and I attempted to use this tool, however, it only provided me with the Ethernet Controller and Graphics card driver updates. Not sure why it excluded this one in particular.I used a tool called Unknown Device Identifier also, to figure out which drivers were missing and it's still showing that the PCI Comm, Controller is missing a driver.I'm not sure if this missing driver will have anything to do with the low signal strength I am getting from the wireless adapter, but that is the main problem I am facing.Thanks for responding!
I have a similar experience on some HP boxes here. So it might be a parallel situation (or completely unrelated). I nmy case I beleive it is related to the AHCI driver.

In HP's case they do not seem to keep this with all the other driver for a particular model, but somewhere off by itself (perhaps it is common to all models). Every time I need it I have to hunt it down again.You might try this link and see if one of these drivers solves your issue. Otherwise Dell has great online support (at least IMO).

I have a dell optiplex 755 (tower), it was shipped originally with vista but was recently reinstalled using Windows 7, 64 bit.THe serial port driver, and something else called 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' (possibly a modem on the motherboard) are listed as 'other devices' in the device manager, with yellow exclamation marks in the icons meaning they have no drivers installed.Dell does not list any drivers on their usual website where you enter your service tag. I am pretty sure this is a standard Intel Q## chipset. Does anybody know which one exactly, and where I can get the chipset drivers and particularly, the serial port drivers, for 64 bit Windows 7?
